You’re instincts are correct. We’re in a lopsided market with the healthcare sector accounting for 95% of all jobs added in January 2026.

The trends:

  • Manufacturing sector hiring is stalled

  • Large tech is laying off thousands

  • An aging population needs more healthcare

  • Older population generally has more expendable wealth and willing to spend on elective procedures (cosmetic surgery, wellness, etc.).

Can’t find a position or get promoted in your current industry? Consider how your knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) can be used in the healthcare sector (not all jobs are clinically focused).
