Protect Your Intellectual Property Through Negotiation and Cultivation of Professional Community

Matthew Call of Texas A&M argues in the WSJ (2/15/26) that workers must protect themselves as enterprise AI systems capture employee knowledge and work processes, potentially making workers replaceable.

Call recommends that workers negotiate ownership of their IP, use personal AI tools (whenever possible), and support collective action. If collective action is not possible, workers can also help each other by sharing best practices and openly discussing successful negotiating strategies.
